DECIPHERING VARIOUS TYPES OF GEYSERS

Winter is almost upon us. The cold weather can make simple tasks related to water use very difficult. The use of heated water becomes important. Geysers are one of the most used appliances to generate heated water, not just in winters, but throughout the year. With technology enhancements, the product range available has expanded. Let us help you understand the various products available.

  1. Electric vs. Gas vs. Solar Geysers

Based on the technology to heat the water, geysers can be classified into three types – Electric, Gas, and Solar Geysers.

An Electric Geyser uses electricity supply from the household connection (power plugs) to heat water. The geysers have a copper element, which when provided with electricity, generates heat energy which then heats the water.

An Electric Geyser can be easily installed indoors in bathrooms and kitchens and remains the preferred choice for domestic geysers.

Aeronova has a wide range of Electric Geysers – NOVA HOTPRO, NOVA HOTPRO PLUS, and NOVA NEO, starting from 1 Ltr in capacity to 35 Ltrs, in metal-casing body and ABS body, that looks elegant to match your decor. The tanks come with options of SS and enamel-coated. All geysers have a shock-proof and safety plug.

A Gas Geyser uses LPG or PNG from a piped or cylinder to heat the water. The geyser has a burner that fires and the heat exchanger warm the flowing water. The ignitor in the gas burner can be operated by a battery of a power supply. A thermostat modulates the amount of gas that goes to the burner, maintaining the pre-set temperature.

Independent houses or floors with open areas can use a Gas geyser. Gas geysers require installation in open spaces. Since gas is burned, it generates fumes that can be detrimental to health in closed spaces. It is also recommended that the gas supply to a gas geyser is independent of the supply for the kitchen.

Aeronova Gas Geyser, NOVA FLAME, has a 6 ltr capacity with highly efficient burners, pulse ignitor, 20-min timer, and flame failure device. The outer body material is powder-coated anti-corrosive steel.

A Solar water geyser uses solar energy to warm water. Most solar heaters are also provided with an electrical back-up, to support solar energy whenever needed.

Independent houses with large open areas have the option of using a solar geyser.

  1. Instant vs. Storage Geysers

Based on the type of storage for heated water, geysers can be classified into two types – Instant and Storage.

Instant geysers are called so because they have a small storage capacity of 1-3 litres. They give you hot water almost immediately after you switch it on. They are small in size and compact, ideal for kitchens and small bathrooms. They also consume less electricity. They also cost less.

Aeronova offers NOVA INSTAHOT range of instant geysers in 1 ltr and 3 ltr capacity, with robust construction and elegant design. It comes with a thermal cut-out, automatic thermostat, low carbon SS tank with 5 years warranty, rust-proof ABS body, and a fusible plug.

Storage geysers are those that have more than 3 litres storage capacity. Storage geysers have a tank that stores water. They do not supply hot water instantly, there is a time-lag between switching-on and availability of hot water.  They are larger in size and usually installed in places that have sufficient space. They are more expensive as compared to instant geysers and are available in 6 ltr, 10 ltr, 15 ltr, 20 ltr, 25 ltr, 35 ltr, and 50 ltr capacity.

Aeronova has a wide range of Storage Geysers – NOVA HOTPRO, NOVA HOTPRO PLUS, and NOVA NEO, starting from 1 Ltr in capacity to 35 Ltrs, in metal-casing body and ABS body, that looks elegant to match your decor. The tanks come with options of SS and enamel-coated. All geysers have a shock-proof and safety plug.
